The AZ Vichy French language school was founded in 1964 by the Municipality of Vichy in collaboration with the two Universities of Clermont-Ferrand. Today, the universities regulate teaching standards, and provide additional expertise in organizing teaching programs. This has led to an excellent international reputation which is built on well designed and effective teaching program. Today the French language school in Vichy is also a member of SOUFFLE, a prestigious group of professional organizations who focus on the teaching French as a foreign language. Currently the French school is centrally located within Vichy, and as such is close to everything you will want to see and do within this city.

At the French language school you can take full advantage of studying French in France. All the teaching staff are native speakers, and specialists in helping students learn French as a foreign language in Vichy. Standard French Program: 26 lessons per week (10-15 students per class). This program is divided between 18 lessons of classroom instruction and 8 lessons per week of language workshops.

During the 18 lessons per week of classroom instruction you will work with a group of students whose level of French and learning abilities are the same as your own, enabling you to make systematic and rapid progress in both spoken and written language skills.

While the classroom teaching enables you to improve your skills in the language in general, the language workshops offer you the chance to make rapid progress in a more specialize area. A wide choice of workshops is available. Topics include: oral communication, written communication, grammar practice, broadening of vocabulary, the media, songs, the French way of life, French culture, and preparation for D.E.L.F. - D.A.L.F. exams.

Extra Options

Standard Course With The Option Of Private Tuition: If you need to prepare for something specific, this option enable you to replace the language workshops with 6 lessons of individual tuition (6 sessions of 60 minutes each). CAVILAM can tailor a program to meet your individual needs.

Super Intensive French Classes: This course is identical to the Standard Course with one exception: You will take the regular 26 lessons of group instruction and THEN take another 6 lessons of private instruction.

Individual French Language Training: 4-6 classes per day. This course is perfect for individuals who have very little time or who need a very intensive program.

• Private room in a host family with a host family.
• Students have the option to stay in an student residence with other students or in a studio. Hotels are also a possibility.
• 1-2 meals per day with host family.
• Access to email, the Internet, phone, and fax service.
