ESL: Program Overview
With a fantastic view of
lake Geneva from the classes and the terrace, the school is
ideally located at few minutes walk from Montreux railway
station, main bus stops and Lake Geneva’s Riviera, close
to restaurants and shopping malls.
The school is well equipped
with the highest standards. ESL has spacious and luminous
classrooms in modern facilities that offer a great environment
for learning a new language or brushing up on your French
language skills. The schools library-study room as well the
computer lab (which includes free-internet access) offers
students the possibility to work or to relax after their French
lessons. In addition to the educational facilities, the school
also has an indoor cafeteria, a common room for games and
leisure as well as a tearoom restaurant. The school is wheel
chair accessible.
Among the students' favorite
places to socialize is the beautiful terrace, straight across
from classrooms, this location is a great place to hang out,
relax or just have fun playing ping-pong. This is also a fantastic
place to enjoy unforgettable evening parties, discos &
barbecues.
At ESL you’ll study
in small groups and benefit from a modern, lively and dynamic
teaching program perfectly tailored to meet the demands of
modern life and the needs of our students. All ESL teachers
work in their mother tongue, are qualified, and regularly
participate in training sessions organized in conjunction
with our IH Nice Program in Nice, France. This continuous
training enables our teaching staff to keep up to date with
all the advances in teaching methodology, and to offer you

At ESL Montreux the school
offers a variety of different program options, suitable for all
skill levels:
Standard
French Program: This courses consists of 20 group classes
per week with a maximum class size of 10 students. This course is
aimed at students who wish to study intensively in the mornings
whilst keeping the afternoons free to put their new language skills
into practice and to discover the local culture. This is ideal for
a long-term course of study and for younger students with an active
social life.
Intensive
French Program: This course consists of 25 group classes
per week with a maximum class size of 10 students. The 5 extra lessons
per week will enable you to develop your linguistic competence more
rapidly through lessons specifically aimed either at the DELF examination
or at discovering the French-speaking world's culture. This intensive
course is particularly suited to students wishing to make rapid
progress over a shorter period of time.
Super
Intensive French Program: This course consists of 30 group
classes with a maximum class size of 10 students. Super Intensive
Course has been built up for those who have to improve their French
during extra short stays. We recommend it for intensive courses
from 1 to 5 weeks maximum.
Private
Lessons: Private classes can be added on a hourly basis.
You can supplement your group classes by taking as many additional
private classes you want, or you can take entire private lessons.
In the private lessons you can choose the subject areas yourself,
or your teacher can guide you, based on your individual needs as
highlighted in your initial evaluation. Options include business
French (negotiation, telephone, correspondence, meetings) and French
and Francophone culture. Private lessons can be combined with one
of the group modules or followed on their own.
- French immersion courses as well as your choice
of accommodations.
- In addition to the French immersion programs,
students who wish to skate or roller blade are most welcome to
the school's indoor skate park, inside the school building...free
of charge!
- Learning material, placement test, ESL certificate,
cultural and activities programs as described, student card.
