The Seasons of Mallorca
The weather of Mallorca is typically the tropical
Mediterranean climate. Normally summers June to August are very
dry and temperatures in August reach about 30°C perfect for
swimming with the water warming up. Winters from December to February
are humid and mild . Rainfall is irregular varying from one year
to the next. It also experiences drought at times. The average
annual rainfall varies across the island, from 350mm in the south
to 1,500mm in the high areas on the Serra de Tramuntana mountain
range with about 550mm precipitation over the year. The sea and
the surrounding mountain ranges control the islands climatic conditions
which means that seasonal temperature variations aren't as marked
as they are on continental land masses at the same latitude.
