Activities: Valencia
The mild climate of Valencia offers the visitor a complete
spectrum of outdoor activities, and sports. Beautiful beaches
present opportunities for water sports such as sailing, windsurfing,
fishing and diving. Valencia has number of flying clubs which
offer microlight aircraft, hang gliding, parachuting or ballooning.
Visitors should also take time out to enjoy the beautiful country
side by hiking, trekking and horse riding. Traditional sports
in Valencia include pulling and dragging contests and horse
races popular in rural regions. Other popular sports like golf
, tennis and squash are also available.
Valencia's ideal climate all year round makes
it a great location for golfing. Most golfing clubs offer good
services including putting greens, driving ranges and rental equipment.
Valencia has a sailing
club and sailing school founded in 1903. It is one of the oldest
and biggest club in Spain. most modern. It holds a Regatta every
weekend and also stages important national competitions. Tourists
can also join school and participate in the activities of the club.
The Feria de Julio is the local
fair held every year in Valencia. It includes a spectacular flower
show, contests among musical bands, bull fights, firework displays,
lots on products on sale, games for children, music, dance and lots
of food, drink and entertainment.
