The winter session is great for students
that want to take a language course prior to the first semester
as well as those students that want to take advantage of their
winter break to earn credit for Spanish courses. This course
is open to beginner, intermediate and advanced students. Students
will have 90 hours of classroom contact. Intermediate students
will enroll in Spanish Grammar (45 hours) and Chilean Culture
(45 hours) with other international students. Advanced students
have the option to chose two of the following courses: Spanish
Grammar (45 hours), Chilean Culture (45 hours), or Social
Political Issues in Modern Chile (45 hours).
Classes will meet Monday
through Friday. The class is designed to help improve communication
skills and about the Chilean culture. You will have 90 hours
of classroom contact, including the language course and culture
classes. The classes are held in workshop format Mondays-Friday.
The language class will take place 10:00AM-1:15PM. The culture
courses will take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30PM-5:00PM.
The winter intersession course requires 90% attendance to
the classes. This is a nice time for North Americans to head
South because it is summer in Chile! All courses are taught
in Spanish.
