Spanish:

Spanish Grammar I: The study of the linguistics, the origination and forms. You will learn to distinguish the different parts of grammar, the morphology of the language, and be able to correctly analyze and describe the linguistic parts of the language.

Written and Oral Expression: The study of the correct application of the structure of actual Spanish written and oral. The student will be able to use appropriately the semantics of Spanish in written and oral communication.


Anthropology:

Games of Indigenous Chilean People: The study and practice of physical games of the indigenous people

Language, Culture, and Modernization in Latin America: The study and analysis of the bond between the Spanish-American culture and the diverse community of inhabitants during the last 30 years in Latin America- specifically with respect to the transformations in entomology and sociolinguistics.

Cultures in Contact: The study of the expense of diversity within Chilean culture and other cultures. You will learn about the values, beliefs, and lifestyles of other cultures and identify possible obstacles for communication on a personal and professional level.

General Anthropology: To learn about the dimension and complexity of the natural human and the forces that operate in the society, the nature of the culture, their materials and structures and the process of change that characterize them. To learn about nature and the function of humans in groups and their strategies for existence. An analysis of the practical problems and conflicts of contemporary life, especial in relation to social inequalities, poverty, internationalization, racism and the impact of industrialization.

Cultural Anthropology: Principles of cultural and social anthropology, with illustrative materials from a variety of cultures. The nature of cultures. Social, political, and economic systems; religion, aesthetics, and language.

Cultural Anthropology: An introduction to the fundamental aspects of cultural anthropology. Students will learn the methods and theories and learn to analyze, questions, and understand the field.


Political Science:

Political and Electoral History of Chile: To learn the evolution of politics and the electorate in Chile and the origin of the republic.

International Politics: Students learn the laws and phenomenon that affect the life of people in their own towns. Students will study the type of political structures, characteristics of the economy, and the judicial practices.

Business:

Business Administration I: Familiarize students with the concepts and principles of business administration from the perspective of the director and entrepreneur. They will learn to analyze the different schools of administration and the problems with their style.

Macroeconomics I: The analysis of the fundamental theories of economics in a global context

Political Economy: The study of how governments affect the economy of the state through decisions, regulations, social reforms, etc. Case studies will help students to further understand the theories in real-life situations.

Entrepreneurship: The study of the process of starting a company. Students will examine how finance, marketing, operations, and the international economics relate to the founding of a business in the public and private sector.

Economy: The reason and purpose of the study of economics, the activities of economics, and the science of the economy.

Sociology:

Sociology: The study of the fundamental aspects of scientific knowledge and the analysis of social phenomenon. The history, context, and structure of the science will be examined. Students will also study the authors and schools of sociology.

Fundamentals of Social Work: Provides theoretical foundation and skill base necessary for social work interventions with individuals, small groups, and larger systems.

Communication:

Theory of Communication: To understand how human beings communicate, the function and principle variables that affect communication. Special emphasis will be placed on intercultural communication and public communication.

Geography:

Introduction to Geography: The study of the basic theories of Geography and the relationship between geography and science. Students will learn the origination and evolution of the study of geography.

Geography of Population: An introduction of the history of the use of space, the use and relevance of geography to the population. Students will also look at the problems, limits and identity of the principle ideas. They will study the distribution, composition and politics of the population in its relation to the geography.

Geography of Latin America: This course is divided into four units including: the study of the ancient writings and inscriptions of South America, the natural regions of the Americas, the occupation and organization of the territories, and the countries of Latin America.

Geography of the Population of Chile: The course will identify the problems of distribution of the population of Chile. You will learn what has caused the decrease of nationalism in Chile. You will learn the politics of the various populations of Chile.

Sciences:

Introduction to Biology: Biological concepts emphasizing principles and interplay of structure and function at the organism, population, and community levels; includes ecology, evolution.

Microbiology: The theories and practical fundamentals of microbiology.

Conservation Biology: Scientific and technical means for management, maintenance, protection, and restoration of biological resources on this planet.

Introduction to Oceanography: The objective of the course is to motivate students to understand the general problems and basic principles in order to build a foundation for further study.

Wildlife Conservation and Protection in Chile: The principles of conservation, protection and development of animal species. The understanding of the effect species have on ecology.

Psychology:

Introduction to Psychology: An introductory course in psychology that address the value of psychology as a science, the concepts of conduct, contemporary psychology, and the basic psychological functions.

Development of Psychology I: Analyzes behavior development in terms of psychological principles. Study of current research in psychology.

Social Psychology: Human social behavior, including such concepts as aggression, attraction, attribution, conformity, groups, helping, person perception, and persuasion.

Psychology of the Personality: The study of the structure, organization and dynamics of a personality.

Psychology of Education: The study of the basic components of psychology and the underlying process of education in general. Students will learn to discuss problems in a scientific manner, utilizing the appropriate technical language. Students will be able to recognize and apply the examples of psychological phenomenon and their implications on the educational process.

Psychology of Adolescence: They study of the period of adolescence and its relation to education. Students will analyze the factors that affect of Chilean adolescence: family, school, neighborhood, etc.

Psychology of Learning: The study of the characteristics and principles of the diverse forms of learning.

Social Psychology: Human social behavior, including such concepts as aggression, attraction, attribution, conformity, groups, helping, person perception, and persuasion. Students will be able to identify and look for possible explanations of the principle social phenomenon that exist in modern society.

Art:

Urban Space: The study of urban space. The course will cover various architects and take a look at the architecture of Valparaiso.

Basic Concepts of Cinematography: The study of the initial creative process, the progression, the technical aspect and the material analysis and reflection of cinematography.

Traditional Chilean Dance: The study of the traditional dances of Chile.

Religion:

Study or Psalms: The study and analysis of the psalms and the human sentiments they express.

Origins of Christianity: A comparative study of the cultural-religious era during which Christianity emerged.

Christianity through Art: The course gives students the opportunity to understand Christianity through art. You will study the distinct styles and eras and the iconography of Christianity.
