Summer 4 or 5 Week Language & Elective Modules
 

There area total of five summer sessions. Four of these summer sessions are made up of 4 week Spanish language classes. The 4 week Spanish language classes are identical in format to the Intensive 4 Week Language Modules.

One of the summer sessions is different and allows students to enroll in a Spanish language module and take one elective. The elective course will last for five weeks (the Spanish classes will last 4 weeks) and will be held everyday. Summer elective courses include Introduction to Tropical Ecology, Introduction to Marine Biology, Environmental Impact and Social Development, Arts and Humanities, Introduction to Eastern and Western Philosophy, Intercultural Communication, Introduction to International Business, Latin-American Literature, and Contemporary Costa Rican Writings (see below for course descriptions).

Total Credits: 8 quarter units or 5 semester hours per 4 week session. If taking 5 week program then 9 quarter units and 6 semester hours.
Contact Hours: 80 to 140. 80 for 4 wk session and up to 140 for the 5 wk session.
Language Requirements: Open to all levels of Spanish.
Notes: When taking 5 week session note the elective portion will be for 5 weeks and the Spanish portion 4 weeks.
