Language Courses

Spanish Grammar- Learning is based on the Communicative Approach, without losing sight of the need for grammatical accuracy. Spanish language courses are taught in Spanish and are designed to help students acquire fluency and sufficient communicative skills to cope with any situation that they are likely to encounter. The class size is small to enable teachers to give a more personalized attention, according to the specific needs of each student, and to encourage more interaction in the classroom.

Global Communicative Practice- is designed to increase a student’s communication level through extensive acquisition of vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension of the spoken word. With this new knowledge students will put into practice their skills learned in grammar class through different activities such as role-playing, group discussions, lectures, reading comprehension exercises, skits, speech-making and multimedia communications. Topics range from current events, cultural differences, local experiences, the arts, holidays, and international topics.

History of Spanish Art

Students will focus on Spain up to the 21st Century. Students will learn how to appreciate a work of art, terminology, important styles in Spanish art. They will also learn about the effect an artists environment had on him and his work.

Spanish for Business

Topics covered include the work environment in Spain, opportunities, concepts and types of businesses, organizational systems, banking, commerce, and tourism.

Contemporary Spanish Literature

Focusing on 3 genres of the 20th century: Poetry, theater and novels. Students will follow the philosophical literary movements of Spanish literature in the 20th century. The environment in which the authors lived will also be explored and the impact that had on his works. Special attention will also be paid to political issues and their influence in Spanish literature.

Spanish Culture

The course attempts to take a comprehensive look at Spanish culture. Topics covered include Spanish geography, government, language, education. The autonomous regions of Spain will also be explored in relationship to their history. Everyday life in Spain including daily activities, food, holidays, and dance are also discussed.\
