AZ Malaga: Program Overview

AZ Malaga is situated in the upper scale Pedregalejo district of Malaga. Over the years, the school has earned a reputation as one of the best Spanish language institutions in the country. Students from all over the world have learned and perfected their Spanish at this quality language school while at the same time enjoying the best that Spain has to offer.

From the school, the beach and the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean are only 300 meters away. You will find that this is residential area where most "Malagueños" come to spend their free time. Why? Because this area has nice city beaches, numerous bays, and authentic seafood restaurants that prepare their daily catch ´espetos´ right on the beach. Who could ask for something better? From Pedregalejo the city center is easy to reach, there is a bus stop next to the school, and the buses pass by at least once every ten minutes.

Currently AZ Malaga is located in two wonderful Andalusian villas full of light filled classrooms and a relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere. To allow the students to take advantage of the great weather, you will find terraces on the roofs of each villa which offer a great place to relax, a place to talk with the other students, and finally, a terrific view of the mountains around Malaga. In addition to well appointed classrooms, students have access to a TV and video room, and a computer laboratory with e-mail service. Students will also find a small cafeteria that serves coffee, tea or juices, and bocadillos. In sum, AZ Malaga has some of the nicest and most comfortable facilities you will find anywhere in Spain.

Our two Andalusian villas have bright classrooms with a Mediterranean atmosphere. To enjoy the most of the sun you can go up to the terrace on the roof where you also have a terrific view of the mountains of Málaga. The school has many facilities such as a TV and video room and a computer laboratory with e-mail service and Internet access. There is also a small cafeteria that serves coffee, tea or juices, ´bocadillos´ and sandwiches.

AZ Malaga offers a variety of excellent Spanish programs designed for all different levels of Spanish. A lot of emphasis is placed upon the speaking ability (communicative approach) of the students. In some of the classes for example, students will have to prepare small oral lectures and presentations plus hold group discussions on the topics they have presented. In addition audio and video equipment, songs, newspapers, magazines and language games are used to involve the many different ways a language can be used.

Apart from learning the language, you will probably want to see more of Spain and to get to know more about Spanish life and culture. Therefore AZ Malaga organizes a whole range of activities. During the week you will have the opportunity to partake in a variety of interesting activities ranging from Flamenco lessons to intercambios with Spaniards. During the weekends, students will also have a chance to participate in full day excursions to different points of interest within Andalusia.

As with many of our other schools, AZ Malaga not only provides general Spanish language study, but can also provide specialized programs for businesspeople, lawyers, teachers, etc. Specialized courses are offered under a private instruction format.
