| Semi-Intensive
French: 20 hours each week; 4 hours daily of Integrated
Studies from 9:00 - 11:00(Period A) and 11:30 - 1:30 (Period
B). In these periods an integrated approach to the improvement
of your general ability to communicate is utilized. The emphasis
is on oral fluency. Period A deals with language elements
and their practice. Period B targets language usage through
discussion of video, audio and written materials. There is
a minimum of a 2 week stay. Course Material is included in
course fee. The maximum class size is 14 students and the
minimum age is 18.
Intensive
French: 30 hours each week; 6 hours daily. The program
is the same as the Semi-Intensive but includes an additional
2 hours of Focused Studies in the afternoon from 2:30-4:30
(Period C). This period permits students to focus on special
skills. Subjects have been carefully chosen to provide you
with a range of topics suitable to your ability and interests.
Topics are offered at three levels on a rotational basis.
As a Focus Studies option, Intensive students may choose computer-assisted
language study in the Student Resource Centre during Period
C. Intensive students are helped by our staff to select the
Focus Studies courses most appropriate to their needs and
interests. Course Material is included in the course fee and
the minimum age is 18. The maximum class size is 14.
Plus
French: one-to-one lessons can be taken in addition
to Intensive or Semi-Intensive program. Course Material: included
in course fee. Minimum Age: 18.
One-to-One:
LSC provides private courses on an individual basis. The custom-designed
program is arranged to suit specific needs in terms of course
length, schedule and content.
Co-Op
Program: Combine your language learning at LSC with
a volunteer placement in a Canadian company to expand your
abilities in a real-life situation. If you are of high-intermediate
ability, you can become a Co-Op student. The volunteer assignment
is bilingual, both French and English!
Montreal Language
Adventure: Montreal Language Adventure
is a junior program for students 13-17 years old. It offers
a range of entertaining and meaningful activities. The focus
is on language instruction in English or French in a small-group
setting. Speaking and listening take priority.
