Mercado Municipal
The Municipal Market is a great place to purchase local fruits
and vegetables along with mixing with the locals.
Rua Vinte e Cinco
de Março
These street offers the visitor a view of typical life in Sao
Paulo. Throughout the area are a variety of interesting shops
and little markets.
Centro de Tradições
Nordestinas
This is a center that focuses on the traditions of Northeastern
Brazil. During the weekends you can experience music, food, and
other festivities related to Northeastern Brazil.
Bairro da Liberdade
Sao Paulo has the largest number of Japanese living outside of
Japan. This neighborhood is the area where large numbers of Japanese
descendents live.
MAM – Museu
de Arte Moderna
The interesting museum has an extensive collection of modern and
contemporary art from Brazil and Latin America.
Museu do Ipiranga
This museum contains an extensive collection of items from the
time when Brazil became an in dependant nation. Items include:
furniture, weapons, utensils, photos, ceramics, dishes, historic
paintings and more.
Terraço
Itália
This is the tallest building in the city. It is 165 meters high,
with 46 stories. It was built in the early 60's and inaugurated
by Queen Elizabeth II. On the 46th floor there is a restaurant,
called the 'Terraço Itália', from where it is possible
to see all of Sao Paulo.
