There is no doubt that the best way to learn and
improve your Portuguese language skills is to live with a local
host family. You will have an opportunity to practice and improve
your Portuguese outside of class and learn more about the Brazilian
culture and way of life.
The Portuguese language school in Rio de Janeiro
only places one student with a host family (unless you are traveling
with someone). You will receive a private room and 2 meals per day.
You are also given a key which will allow you to come and go as
you see fit. Most families in Rio de Janeiro are within 15-30 minutes
from the Portuguese language school. If you have questions about
your host family the Portuguese language school has on on site host
family coordinator to assist you.

- Most host families have been working with the Portuguese language

- If children are in the family, ages can range from infant to
