It is possible to receive
academic credit for German language courses taken at the German
language school (AZ Vienna) in Vienna, Austria.
Please read the following
options carefully to find out which one is most appropriate
for you!
Option A - Academic Credit from
your HOME CAMPUS
Many U.S. universities will grant credit to student's based
upon our classroom curriculum (syllabus) here at AZ Vienna
German Language School.
1. Before registering for an German language course:
Clearly establish exactly which documents you need to give
your study abroad advisor for evaluation of your planned
course at AZ Vienna German Language School.
2. Order Information Folder for your study abroad advisor
The German language school has compiled an information folder
especially for this purpose. Among other information it
contains:
- Course Syllabi
- Classroom Hours, Course Levels and Class Credit
- Academic Policies and Procedures
- Faculty and Staff, Teacher CVs
- Sample Transcript
We are happy to send all relevant information to your
study abroad advisor, German professor, language department
chair or other person responsible for evaluating student's
courses for academic credit.
Please provide us with name, department and email-address
via our Information Request Form.
3. We will then send everything electronically to your
study abroad advisor.
4. Discuss your plans to study German in Vienna with your
advisor.
5. Register to attend AZ Vienna German Language School.
6. Confirm which documents you need (official transcript,
your school's evaluation report, etc.) to provide your school
with upon completing your course with the German language
school.
7. Upon arrival:
* Please inform the secretary that you need Academic Credit
on your first day.
* If necessary bring your school's Evaluation Report form.
Option B - Transfer Credits from our PARTNER INSTITUTION
If your university will not give you academic credit for
participating in our courses you can enroll in one of our
partner institutions where transcripts will come from an
accredited U.S. university.
Most 4-year and 2-year universities and colleges in the
United States will accept transfer credits from these schools.
However, it is best to confirm this before registering for
an German language course.
Before enrolling in one of our Partner Institutions:
* Confirm that credit is transferable from an outside
institution.
* Clearly establish how to go about transferring the credits
when you return.
* Determine in advance what documents you will need to give
your university upon completing your course (e.g. official
transcript, your school's evaluation report, etc.)
* Please note that tuition/enrollment fees will be charged
by our partner institutions in addition to the German language
course fees.
