VEJER JUNIOR PROGRAM
LA JANDA Ages: 14-17

La Janda is a small and personal school located in a very special environment. The school is ideal for the student who wants to experience the Spanish way of life in very unique surroundings. Recently La Janda signed an agreement to collaborate closely with our CLIC school in Sevilla. Standards at La Janda have been adjusted to fall in line with what CLIC offers. In addition this agreement now makes it very easy for students to spend time at both locations and receive virtually the same quality of instruction. What better way to learn Spanish while at the same time discovering two different parts of Spain.

La Janda offers language courses and programs that emphasize the participant's ability to communicate. The goal of the school is to help the student intensively develop their linguistic skills. While the reading and writing aspect is covered the main emphasis is working on a students speaking abilities.

This summer course takes place in a separate building and is designed for 14 to 17 year olds. It offers them the chance to study Spanish in a safe environment near some of Spain’s most beautiful beaches.

Students take Spanish courses in the mornings followed by a varied program of activities in the afternoon which include sports, parties, visits to places of local interest and the beach and a full day excursion on Saturdays. Accommodation is full-board in Spanish host families in Vejer. Airport transfers to and from Jerez are included in the price and Seville and Malaga airport transfers may be shared at reduced rates.

Accommodation includes 3 meals per day with a specially selected Spanish family in double rooms.

Arriving in Vejer

Airport transfer upon arrival and departure to/from Jerez is included in the cost of the program. Airport transfer from Malaga or Sevilla can be provided at and additional cost (Sevilla is approximately US$160 one way; Malaga is approximately US$190, one way.)

Supervision

The program in Vejer provides a moderate amount of supervision for students. There will be times when students are NOT supervised by members of the staff at the school. Students attending the program in Vejer are expected to be mature and responsible enough to be able to handle themselves appropriately in a foreign country. Students are expected to abide by the school rules and any violations will result in immediate dismissal from the program. Students do stay with local host families which provides a moderate amount of supervision.

Excursions

Students are provided with one half day and one full day excursion per week to Cadiz, Tarifa and Bolonia, Sevilla or Cordoba. Horse riding and tennis courses optional.
