TARRAGONA JUNIOR PROGRAM
INTERNATIONAL HOUSE
Ages 13-17
IH
Tarragona was opened in 1980. The school building is on a
broad tree-lined avenue (the Rambla) in the very centre of
the city. The school is spread over two floors of a typical
town house and there are 10 spacious classrooms as well as
a study area and students’ lounge. The school offers
English classes to students from the local population throughout
the year and Spanish courses in the summer – in collaboration
with IH Barcelona.
The school offers modern
classrooms combined with a computer room where connection
to the Internet provides students with access to email. There
is also a large selection of books, cassettes and other supplementary
materials at each level for self-study to help students develop
their language skills. Video and satellite TV facilities are
also available in the comfortable lounge area and many of
the original version films have explanatory notes.
IH-Tarragona offers an
excellent Junior Summer School option for students ages 13-17
years. The program offers 3 lessons per day (Monday through
Friday) of small group Spanish language instruction with 6-12
students per class, a varied social/cultural program 4 afternoons
a week including sports, cultural visits, parties, films and
days at the beach.
The timetable is usually
from 9:30 to 13:00 (in high season from 14.00-17.30 also)
Monday to Friday with a variety of different teachers. The
format of instruction is identical to that of the Standard
Program for adults.
