Inzell: Program Overview
Inzell Bavarian Summer
Program (ages 10-16)
GLS German Sports &
Language Camp: Inzell, Bavaria is made up of 24 little Bavarian-style
houses, making up an Olympic village of their own - with tennis
courts, gym halls and a pool: that’s Feriendorf Inzell,
south-east of Munich, where you can learn German and participate
in all sorts of sports. Best of all, you can meet Germans:
50% of the kids in the camp are German!
German classes &
Sports
You learn German with native
speakers - 4 lessons every day from Monday to Friday. They’ll
teach you everything you need to know in order to communicate
with the German kids in the camp.
After class we offer you
a sports program with 2 activities every day. You can use
all of the sports facilities in the village, same as the German
kids - a perfect chance to socialize with them!
Accommodations
In Feriendorf Inzell -
meaning "holiday village" - you stay in guest houses
right next to the camp and live in 3 to 4 bedded rooms, most
of them with own shower and restroom. The houses are very
gemuetlich (cosy), and you’ll get a taste of Bavarian
hospitality.
Classrooms are within easy
reach, you just walk over to the schoolhouse in the middle
of the village, and that is where the cafeteria is as well.
Here you have lunch and dinner (breakfast at the guesthouse).
Location:
a sports & holiday village, frequented by German kids,
near the famous Bavarian resort of Inzell, southeast of Munich
- within easy reach via airport Salzburg or via the Munich
airport.
Facilities:
6 classrooms; cafeteria; cinema; heated outdoor pool, several
indoor gyms, 4 tennis courts; football, basketball and volleyball
fields - all within the village´s grounds.
Transfers
Students should arrive
at the Salzburg (Austria) airport on Saturday and they will
be picked up by the school. They will also be returned to
this airport upon departure. It is possible for students to
arrive in Munich and receive airport pickup, however this
is an additional fee.
Excursions
GLS staff and teachers
live with you in the village, and every week they take you
on 2 excursions to places in Bavaria and even Austria.
The excursions include
hiking tours with outdoor education by skilled Bavarian guides
as well as full day trips to Munich, the salt mine in Bertechsgaden,
Salzburg - city of Mozart - or Lake Chiemsee.
