Berlin: Program Overview
Berlin Summer
School (ages 16-19)
GLS German language school in Berlin has
two branches, both in central and attractive locations, one
near Kurfuerstendamm, a famous shopping street, and the other
one near Checkpoint Charlie, the former border between East
and West.
Learning German in Berlin
You have 4 lessons of
German per day, at either school A or school B: Both branches
are school and residence at the same time, i.e. if you have
classes at school A, then that is where you live - same for
location B. Both offer a garden / courtyard cafes for socializing
after class--and both have a cafeteria where you have breakfast,
lunch and dinner. You’ll live in 3 or 4 bedrooms with
shower and restroom on the hall.
Exploring Berlin
After lunch the activities
start, with one afternoon and one evening activity per day.
You will visit places like Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburger
Tor or Museum Island, where outdoor concerts take place in
summer time. Of course you’ll get to relax as well,
with activities such as inline skating, swimming in Lake Wannsee,
rowing in Tiergarten Park or just dancing in one of Berlin’s
trendy new clubs.
Weekend excursions
You’ll get to attractions
outside Berlin as well: every Saturday you will take a full-day
excursion, to Potsdam for example, to Castle Rheinsberg or
to Sachsenhausen, a Third Reich concentration camp. In addition
to these trips, already included in course prices, you can
book extra trips to Hamburg, Dresden or Leipzig, once you
are in Berlin.
