Overview
Bavarian Summer School (ages 12-17)
The GLS summer school
takes you to Holzkirchen, a traditional Bavarian town with
12,000 people just south of Munich. The Alps and Lake Tegernsee
are close by, and Munich is just 20 minutes away.
The school and programs
You’ll have 4 lessons
of German every day, in international groups with a maximum
of 12 students per class. The classes are taught on 3 levels:
elementary, intermediate and advanced. After class we organize
activities, one practically every day: swimming in Holzkirchen,
a barbecue or a video evening at the school. If you’d
like to book extra tennis or horse riding lessons, once you
are in Holzkirchen. Just ask your host family and they’ll
be glad to advise.
Accommodations with
host families
At GLS's Bavarian summer
school you stay with host families. All the host families
are very interested in learning about new cultures and look
forward to spending time getting to know you. The families
live in Holzkirchen or in one of the neighboring towns, your
commute to school will be between 10 and 40 minutes. You’ll
meet true Bavarians and will get a first-hand impression of
German life in the south.
Activities and excursions
Every week the school
organizes 3 activities in Holzkirchen plus 2 excursions, to
Munich for example, to Lake Tegernsee or to famous Schloss
Neuschwanstein. As this is a homestay program, of course you’ll
spend time with your host family as well. They are ready to
include you in their every day life and will take you along,
whether on little trips or just to a barbecue at their neighbor’s
house.

In 2005 the Bavarian Summer
School is open from June 26nd to August 20th. Please
note: Arrivals are on Sundays, departures on Saturdays.

Prices include:
