San Sebastian: Sports

The Basque Country has numerous facilities for the practice of all types of sports: from horse riding, golf, or water sports, to high-risk activities such as rock climbing, ravine descent, bungee jumping, and canoeing. All these activities can be taken advantage of in the Basque country's nature reserves and biospheres. For more specific information check the information office.

Surfing and Sea Activities

The surf and sea of the Cantabrian Sea creates places that are excellent for surfing. Zarautz, Zumaia, and Sopelana are all excellent local spots. Great spots for scuba diving and snorkeling include the capes of Matxitxako, Villano and Ogono and the Gipuzkoa and Igeldo areas.

Soccer

Soccer is of course one of the most popular sports in San Sebastian. The Real Sociedad de Futbol is the cities top soccer team and it plays in the First division with the world-renowned Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona teams.
