Cuernavaca: City Information

With over 1 Million inhabitants, the city of Cuernavaca still feels like a small city even though it is the largenst city in Morelos. It is also the Capital City of this state. Cuernavaca remains one of the most popular locations for Spanish summer camps as it has great weather throughout the year and is relatively warm considering the harsh summers of Mexico.

The school is located right in the city center and close to the Plaza de Armas or Zocalo. All host families and points of interest for the teens at the camp are within walking distance of this point.

All Spanish students will arrive in Mexico city which is only 1 hour from Cuernavaca by ground transport. This location in the center of Mexico is ideal as it is very close to the most well known cultural centers in all of Mexico.

All Spanish students will learn to love laid back personality of the city. Cuernavaca has gained this atmosphere from years of summer visitors vacationing there due to its splendid weather and beautiful spring type foliage. Many of Mexico's famouns and infamous called Cuernavaca home for their summer vacations incuding Hernando Cortes, Maxmillian, among many others.

Cuernavaca has now become known for its Spanish schools and receives thousands of students each year. .The city maintains a peaceful environment for teens to learn Spanish. Students remain relaxed during the camp stay despit the various sites to see arond town. The students will see an amazing Cathedral, stunning Palaces, murals by Diego Rivera, several artisan markets, the Borda Gardens, and some of the most well know archaeology locations in all of Mexico.

In addition the the stunning site seeing and language schools, Cuernavaca hosts many modern restaurants, internet cafes, and parks. Cuernavaca remains one of the most popular inland locations for teens to learn Spanish in Mexico.
