While becoming less popular in the West, fur is
very important to Russians. Stroll through Moscow on a cold winter
day and you will see that Russian consider furs both a necessity
and a fashion statement. If you plan on purchasing a fur take care.
There are some bad quality furs sold. Look around to make sure you
get an authentic Russian fur.
Caviar and Vodka
When people hear the word caviar they automatically think Russia.
This delicacy is found at any good food shop. Caviar is readily
available at any big food shop. If you want the best purchase from
a reputable shop. Vodka is the national drink and Russians take
their vodka very seriously. There are a variety of brands of marginal
quality and of course some excellent quality vodkas. Ask around
for a good brand and bring one home to share with your friends.
Supermarkets
There are a variety of supermarkets in St Petersburg
and Moscow. If you are looking for the highest quality goods and
service then it pays to go to a market that is foreign run. Prices
are higher but you can find items not available at other stores.
