The Russian currency is called the Ruble, and as you travel around you should note that almost all prices in Russia are listed in Rubles. Exchanging currency can be done at banks, hotels, our tourist kiosks. You will find that it definately pays off to shop around for the best rate! Note: While tipping is not the norm, at certain places it is becoming the standard. When you come across a situation where you should tip, tip between 5-10%

How much will you spend in Russiat? This depends of course on your personal tastes however the following will give you a general idea.

A budget meal will range from $4-10. A hotel can be as cheap as $10 (not recommended) to a few hundred dollars a night. Typically you can find a hotel to fit your budget. Whatever you do, shop around. Russia can be visited fairly inexpensively.

Final note: Credit cards and US Currency (or Euros) are the best. It can be difficult to exchange travelers checks. Remember getting cash in big cities is easy. In a small town or village it may be impossible.
