| Querétaro
is a small state, with a population of about 1.5 million but
it is nonetheless important. It is most widely known for its
role in México's independence movement, with a strong
sense of patriotism still prevailing among the population.
The people are deeply traditional with a
strong sense of value and culture. They are conservative in
terms of their moral values and traditions. However they do
understand the need for progress. Queretaro has grown into
a modern industrial site, home to more than 500 international
companies which have brought diversity and prosperity to the
region. A large number of people from all over Mexico moved
to Queretaro and chose to make it their home. Most of the
population are newcomers outnumbering the original queretanos.
This has given rise to a new breed of people who sing to different
tunes and eat different food.
