In Guanajuato experiences semi-dry, temperate and semi-warm
weather conditions. Temperatures in the winter drop to about
45 F with mild temperatures in the summer rising to the mid
80's F. The months of June, July and August receive the most
rainfall. The northern and eastern part of the state has a semi
arid climate where evaporation exceeds precipitation. The south
eastern part of the state experiences a more temperate climate
which sustains the oak and pine forests, chaparral
and grazing lands.
In semi-arid climates frosts occur in the winter
months with the highest incidence in January. In some areas of
the centre and southeast the occurance of frost is negligible.
Frequent hailstorms also occur during the winter months but do
not show any clear defined pattern
