Transportation
Puerto Vallarta's Gustavo Díaz
Ordáz International Airport is about 4 miles from the city
and pretty close to most major resorts. It caters to both domestic
and international flights. Flights to Puerto Vallarta are available
from most major cities in U.S. and Canada. Puerto Vallarta is also
a hub to many other Mexican cities.
Transportation to and from the airport is by taxi
or combi bus. Tickets for these modes of transport need to be purchased
at small counters just outside the terminal. The cost depends on
your destination. Using these facilities can be a little more expensive
than, just walking out of the terminal and hailing a taxi on the
street. Make sure you negotiate the cost to reach your destination
before entering the taxi.
Bus
Bus stops can be found every block or two and the
buses run throughout the day. With a transfer or two you can get
anywhere within the city, however at certain bus stations you can
catch buses to remote destinations or other cities as well.
Taxi
There are tons of taxis around town and you should
not have any problem finding one. The fares to several destinations
are posted in each taxi, the daily newspaper and most major hotels.
Negotiate the fare before you set off, this would avoid problems
later.
