North of Puerto Vallarta along the southern coast of Nayarit State
is a string of beautiful, unpopulated beach areas. Lo de Marcos,
Sayulita, Nuevo Vallarta are a few.
Playa Los Muertos is the most popular and busiest
beach in town. The beach is close to downtown and is lined with
several restaurants.
Playa Los Camarones is slightly away from downtown
and the noise and bustle of the resort hotels. A great place to
relax and unwind after a hectic day of sightseeing or shopping.
Playa Norte beach has a busy shore. Several kinds
of sporting activities and locals hawking silver and handicrafts
add to the bustle.
Boca De Tomatlan is a small and calm beach by the
side of a fishing village. This beautiful beach has hills and green
forests in the background.
Mismaloya beach is the site where 'Night of the
Iguana' was filmed which brought Puerto Vallarta to the limelight.
Snorkeling among the rocks along the southern edge of the cove is
a wonderful experience.
Playa Piedra Blanca has crystal clear water and
white sand and beautiful mountains across the bay. Punta de Mita
