Playa del Carmen, Mexico
The city of Playa del Carmen
has grown from a small fishing villiage to a population of around
55 thousand inhabitants. Playa del Carmen is a great location for
those that want to learn Spanish in Mexico as it provides a stunning
beach location right on the Caribbean as well as a modern and warm
atmosphere for studying Spanish. Playa del Carmen lies between the
Mexican cities of Cancun and Tulum in Quintana Roo State on the
Yucatan Peninsula. The Spanish school where you will study Spanish
is in the city center only a few blocks from the beach.
Playa del Carmen is only about
40 minutes by ground transport from the Cancun airport. It also
hosts the jumping off point for the ferry to Cozumel island less
than one hour away. Playa del Carmen is relatively small compared
to its well known neighbor of Cancun, but its charm is eas to recognize
due to its great shopping, various restaurants, and hopping nightlife.
Playa del Carmen truly is a universally friendly location for those
of all ages and interests who are interested in learning Spanish.
Playa del Carmen has become one

because there is plentiful supply of recreational activities when
classes are over and you want to relax and have fun. Mexico in well
known for its Spanish schools, but it is also known for its coasts
and Playa del Carmen's can't be beat for wind surfing, fishing,
diving, golf, and a variety of other water sports. The white sand
beaches are some of the best in the world and can be blinding when
the sun is shining right. The sand is also soft if you were planning
on catching some sun. The water is so cear, you can see the oceans
botton even in deeper portions off the coast. This is especially
important when you are exploring the reef for stunning tropical

Outside of its world class beaches
Playa del Carmen is not lacking in culture. Some of the most well
preserved Mayan ruins are found less than a few hours of Playa del
Carmen. The most recognized sites are Chichen Itza and Tulum. The
school has occasional exursions to these sites and can always provide
information on arranging a tour if an excursion is not running to
a particular site at any given time. There are direct buses from
Playa del Carmen for guided trips in many different languages.
Mexico provides a variety of
wild life and the region surrounding Playa del Carmen definitely
contributes its fair share. There are two large nature parks south
of Playa del Carmen that provide a view into the flora and fauna
that are native to this part of Mexico.
