Transportation in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is a smaller beach town and can easily be roamed by walking through its modern streets. It is easy to rent bikes in the area for swift rides along the beach or for a quicker trip to and from the Spanish school. There is also a great affordable bus system that can take you around town or to neighboring towns.

Most that come to learn Spanish in Playa del Carmen arrive by plane at the Cancun international airport. The Spanish language school provides a private airport pickup and transfer to Playa del Carmen from Cancun for a small fee. Some students fly into the island of Cozumel and take a ferry across to Playa del Carmen. Students who do not which to utilize the school's pickup in Cancun can take a taxi to Playa del Carmen, Mexico even if they know a little or no Spanish. A free shuttle is provided for the few people who wish to rent a car.

The airport in can Cancun also acts as a station for buses, rental cars, and private transportation. From here students can travel to anywhere in Mexico. Tickets must be bought in advance at a booth before taking the bus.

Students can catch a taxi all over Playa del Carmen at any time of the day. If you want to travel inbetween cities, you will want to determine what the driver will charge beforetaking the ride. Playa del Carmen also has care rental sites if you held of on renting a car till later in your trip. Most students don't rent a car as the local transportation is cheap and easy to use. If you are sure that you want to rent a car, it is typically cheaper to make your reservation prior to your arrival.
