Playa del Carmen was at one time a tiny town with its main use as place for fisherman to bring in their catch. Now with the travel industry development in the Yucatan Peninsula and Cancun area, Playa del Carmen has become a melting pot of people from all over the world that have come to witness the beauty of the beach city and its warm weather year-round.
