The most popular local dishes are cochinita pibil

and garlice served in a banana leaf. Another favorite dish is poc

These Mayan dishes emphasize culture area and the roots held strong
in Mexican history.
All students that go to the Spanish school in Playa
del Carmen will have to try the huevos motuleños This dish
is comprised of fried eggs ham, cheese, and peas; another great
option while dining on the Yucatan is turkey with dark chile salsa.
Most of these specialties are created with many different spices

typically come with tortillas. In most restaraunts you will find
well known dishes from Mexico, dishes such as tacos, flautas empanadas,
tostadas, and enchiladas.
Adult beverages such as tequila and sangrita are
also popular drinks in the area. Aguas frescas is a cold water flavored
