a brief time of instruction even complete beginners can enjoy the
Scuba experience in the Playa del Carmen area. The coral reef located

scuba diving at the Great Maya Reef of Mexico to be first class
and some consider it a life altering experience. It can really open
your eyes to the diversity of animal and plant life in the ocean
world.

you can also visit the local Cenotes once Spanish classes are out.
This fresh water cavern diving is exciting and only recommended
for more intermediate divers or those that took the appropriate
instruction.
The reefs around the Cancun area have swift currents,
but also some of the most varied and concentrated amounts of of
ocean life. Due to safety issues with the currents, you must have
a high level of experiene to dive in these waters. Isla Mujeres
is a particularly popular dive site for all levels. You can also
find a large quantity of fan corral, tropical fish, and sponges
at Manchones Chicos.
