Studying
Spanish in Mexico involves living the culture of the people.
One of the fascinating features of the Spanish language study
abroad program relates to living with a local host family.
Staying in the home of
one of the carefully selected traditional Mexican families
is one of the truly outstanding features of this intensive
Spanish language study program. One unique feature of the
IMAC program is that they only place one student per family
unless otherwise requested. Families are chosen from those
of the students studying English here with IMAC.
Since IMAC has a student
body of approximately 2000 students studying English, they
can afford to use very specific guidelines to find the family
most suited to the Spanish student's needs. The homestay program
has the advantage of enabling the student to be
completely immersed both in the intensive use of the Spanish
language at home as well as the Mexican way of life and their
customs , and the traditional hospitality of a Mexican family.
Homestay includes three meals per day and begins one day prior
to the beginning of the classes and concludes up to one day
after classes finish. Students are required to do their own
laundry.
