VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

There is an organized program that offers students the opportunity to work with Mexican children from from low-income neighborhoods. The program is geared towards establishing relationship with the children, as well as teaching them some English.

LANGUAGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Cuauhnáhuac´s English Language school, in operation since September 1993, offers classes in English as a Second Language to Cuernavaca´s Spanish-speaking population. A Cuauhnáhuac staff person organizes personalized language exchanges for students from the English and Spanish schools. You can get together with your assigned partner when you are not in class and have conversation periods in English and in Spanish.

In addition to the individual exchanges, group intercambios are organized two evenings a week, lasting 1 1/2 hours (45 minutes in English and 45 minutes in Spanish). The language exchange program offers Spanish-language students a chance to meet Cuernavaca residents and sometimes to make lasting friendships.

If you are planning on studying for more than four months, you may be interested in teaching English to Mexican students in exchange for a few hours of Spanish class. Please contact us if you are interested in an opportunity of this sort and we will reply with further information.

MEXICAN FIESTAS

Students and teachers enjoy going to the Mexican parties at the school, where Cuauhnáhuac offers music for dancing, typical Mexican food and drink, and plenty of fun.

COOKING CLASSES

Students can discover the art of Mexican cuisine in our cooking course offered after Spanish classes. The price includes the ingredients. Students choose from a variety of menus.
