Wine, cooking, art and other special combination courses offered by the italian language school in Venice

Istituto Venezia: Special Courses

These special courses are carried out together with the standard program held in the mornings. The classes will be taught in Italian, but many of the classes involve hands on activity so if you have a basic knowledge of Italian will suffice. They last two weeks and include afternoon laboratories on the following themes:

Italian + Art

Students can apply to this course only if they apply to the Italian intensive course held in the morning.

This course is held every afternoon from Monday to Friday, two hours per class. Some lessons will be held inside a class (slides will be shown together with other ludic-educational activities), others will take place around the city.

Specific art itineraries will be explored and studied, in order to discover a variety of masterpieces as they are preserved in different architectural styles, from the Byzantine age to neo-classicism, till contemporary art and architecture. Dates are the same as the intensive courses.

Italian + Wine

The idea is to let the student discover Italian wine. Four labs to explain and taste wines from the most famous Italian regions: Tuscany, Piemonte, Sicily, Friuli and of course Venetia, are held.

During these labs, students will learn to recognize qualities and characteristics of different varieties of wine, different production techniques of the most celebrated D.O.C. wines.

In addition, a wine expert will suggest perfect combinations with different dishes. Once a week, students and the wine expert will gather in a Venetian wine cellar.

Italian + Cooking

A full immersion into Italian culture and tradition.

These courses are carried out exclusively together with the intensive courses in the morning. They last two weeks and they include afternoon laboratories on various themes. Labs will be held in Italian by experts.
