Guatemala is located in Central
America, with Mexico to the north, Belize to the northeast,
and Honduras and El Salvador to the southeast. Pacific Ocean
is located in the south. Guatemala has great weather all year
round with two seasons. The dry season starts from mid August
and lasts through April followed by the wet season from May
to mid August.
The national airline is Aviateca. You can
find direct flights to Guatemala City European capitals, cities
in North America and central and South America. There are
border crossings from Mexico, Belize, El Salvador and Hoduras.
It is possible to enter Guatemala by sea. Puerto Quetzal,Puerto
Barrios and Rio Dulce are the main ports of entry.
Travel Requirements
A valid passport is needed to enter Guatemala.
Nationals of most European countries and the United States
need a tourist card that can be availed on arrival at a Guatemalan
airport or when crossing the border. However nationals of
other countries do require a visa. Make sure you check with
the Guatemalan Embassy in your country before traveling.
