Air

La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala city is the closest airport to Antigua. From the airport you can take a taxi or minibus to Antigua. You can also take a taxi to the local bus station from where you can take the public transport to the city. Airport pickup by the school is also available.

Bus

There is a large bus station in the open lot beyond the market, on the west side of town. There are busses running to Guatemala City every hour and one trip daily to Panajachel. There are also bus service to towns such as Chichicastenango, Quetzaltenango and Huehuetenango. The bus system is not very efficient and due to the large demand and small number of trips the buses are usually crowded with a long waiting periods.

Shuttle Minibus

For tourists the mini shuttle bus is a convenient way to visit the numerous sites of interest. These are offered by travel agencies and van service operators and they also make trips to Guatemala City, La Aurora International Airport, Panajachel and Chichi. These services are more expensive than ordinary buses, but they are comfortable and convenient. The competition is fierce and hence the service is better.

Taxi

Taxis are abundant around the central park. Taxis congregate at the bus station and on the east side of Parque Central. Some taxis drive without a meter and hence it is advisable to determine the rate before you enter the taxi

Car & Motorcycle

Cars, motorcycles and bicycles can easily be rented at various location in Antigua.
