Delphi

Delphi is an extremely popular attraction in Greece. Located a few hours outside of Athens this site is listed on most tour itineraries for Greece. Additionally it is an extremely day trip from Athens.

During ancient times Delphis was a place of high importance. It was considered by many to by the center of the world. According to legend it was here at Delphi where the Gods and Man were the closest.

Over the centuries people from all over the civilized world would go to Dephi to speak to the Oracle. They were looking for some divine guidance. To this day, Delphi is still a place of mystery.

Little Cyclades

Of all the many beautiful islands, the Cyclades are probably the most popular. They are well known for great beaches, stunning archaeological sites, a chance to soak up the Greek culture, and natural scenery. One common sight, common in many photos, are the famous white buildings. These buildings standing over deep blue waters is a sight to behold. Each of these islands offers the visitor something unique and special.

Getting to and from and between these islands is easy. Travelers will find regular ferry and hyrdofoil service. If you are short on time, some islands have airports. As you travel around these islands you will discover the remnants of many past civilizations.

Meteora

One of the more interesting places in Greece to visit are the Monasteries of Meteora. These Monasteries, constructed centuries ago a perched atop massive rocks and cliffs.

The name Meteora comes from the phrase "floating in the air". Meteora is home to some amazing rock formations. The formations alone are beautiful and worth a visit just to see them. Even more amazing however is the fact that at the top of many reside old Monasteries Originally build by hermit monks, the Monasteries grew in importance over the centuries. The location and design of the Monasteries also afforded the monks protection, and in most cases the only access to a monastery was by a rope and pulley. Today bridges and walkways allow access.
