You should not only learn German successfully but also enjoy your time here with us. To this end, IH provides an interesting variety of social and cultural activities for your free time.

Excursions

On Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays or Sundays we organize excursions to places of interest in the area around Freiburg. We will show you parts of the Black Forest and towns the other side of the border such as Basle, Colmar or Strassbourg. (Participation is voluntary and expenses such as entrance fees and travel costs must be borne by the participants themselves)

Film evening

On Thursday evening we show a German film on our DVD - video system in school. A great chance to improve your listening skills.

Evening at the pub

On Tuesday evenings participants and trainers meet in a local pub. An ideal opportunity to get to know other participants and to practice your German in a relaxed atmosphere.

The social activities organizer at IH is happy to offer advice on how to spend your free time in Freiburg. She can recommend excursions to local places of interest, provide information about the great variety of sporting activities available in Freiburg or explain cultural events on offer.
