International House (IH) Freiburg was founded as LGS Sprachkurse in 1972 and at the beginning of the eighties started to specialize in teaching German to foreign students.

In 1983 LGS became member of the International House World Group and since 1991 it is the center for Teacher Training and Teacher Development for German as a Foreign Language for the whole world organization.

The majority of teachers at IH have been trained by the school. In all these years the school has been working constantly on improving the quality and on developing the services and facilities in every aspect.

The main interest has always been to offer the clients high quality language teaching and additional services which make their stay both effective and enjoyable.

\What makes International House Freiburg special is the principle of the courses: Although IH is a relatively small school they believe that different types of clients should be catered for in different ways. At IH, both managers and university students are offered highest quality courses, but in different groups. Simply because of the difference in age, needs, interests, budgets etc.

Location

IH is situated in the south-west part of Germany, in the university town of Freiburg. It occupies a splendid neoclassical three-story building in the center of town, just two minutes walk from the large pedestrian zone and the university.
