AZ Berlin : Program
About the programs/teachers
All
teachers have university degrees and extensive experience
in teaching German as a Foreign Language. They are between
25 and 45, some of them have been with schol for many years.
The German courses are taught in tandem, with 2 teachers responsible
for a class and alternating after every break. Weekly teachers´
meetings make sure that everyone stays well informed about
how your classes are going.
Teaching Methodology
Step 1: Placement
test
At the beginning you take
a placement test, to ensure you are learning with others on
the same level. The test is done on your first day at school,
at 8 am, so that you don´t miss regular classes starting
at 9.00 (10.00 in summer time).
Step 2: Classes
begin
You receive all learning
materials from the teacher, and will study, depending on the
course you chose, 4, 6 or 8 hours daily from Monday to Friday.
Included in every course is an animated activity program,
a good way to discover Berlin and start to use what you´ve
learnt in class.
Step 3: Progress
& Feedback
An evaluation test every
Friday allows the staff to check on your progress. However,
you can get personalized feedback from your teachers at any
time. They´ll also be able to advise you if you want
to take one of the language exams like ZD or DHS.
Step 4: Certificates
At the end of your
course you receive a certificate of completion, which includes
duration and kind of course you did plus detailed commentary
on your proficiency level. The German school staff are always
happy to help you with suggestions of how you can continue
to expand your German knowledge.
