Vichy is a
major sporting destination in France.
Vichy has exceptional sporting facilities,
infrastructure and experience to organize and host major sporting
events and competitions. The 120 hectare sports complex called
'Omnisports Park' has indoor and outdoor facilities to accommodate
over 50 sporting discipline. They host national teams for
training courses in major sports like soccer, fencing, wrestling,
rugby etc. Some of the facilities include multiple fields
for soccer and rugby both grass and artificial, athletics
stadium with synthetic tracks, gymnasiums with Hand Ball,
Volley Ball and Basket Ball courts, archery range, halls for
judy, wrestling and fencing and a host of other world class
facilities.
Center National préolympique is a
national Centre where French matelote are trained for the
olympic games. Soccer is a very popular sport in France and
Vichy has been the official training ground for French team
that participated in the world cup held in 1998. Vichy has
been pre-selected by the Fédération Française
de Rugby as the site of the future National Rugby Center.
