Architecture
Vichy's architecture is
a kaleidoscope of styles and facades. Wrought iron balustrades,
extravagant domes, neo-classical and neo-Moorish and other
styles can be seen all around the city.
Vichy reveals its architectural
treasures in the form of Napoleon III Chalets, the Moorish
dome of the Thermal Center, the Center of the Célestins.
The Ironwork that is seen on most balconies and facades with
rich decorations is an art form popular in the 18th and 19th
centuries. Some structures with motifs and domes covered in
copper and ceramics add an oriental flavor.
In the spa quarter and
old Vichy you find unusual streets with houses built in several
styles from Art nouveau, Art Deco,neo-gothic and neo-baroque
to neo-classical.
