Jardin du Luxembourg
Luxembourg is a marvelous garden sprawling over
22 hectares. Romantic, pleasant and beautiful it is a great place
for a family get together. The garden is lined with palm and walnut
trees and dispersed with floral decorations with hugh masses of
rose plants. The garden of Luxembourg offers also many activities
including children's play grounds, croquet, merry-go-round, swings,
puppet theatre, boating, donkey rides etc.
Jardin d'Acclimatation
The Jardin d'Acclimatation was inaugurated on
october 6, 1854 for the purpose of breeding different sorts of
animals to be used for industrial, commercial or educational purposes.
Later it was converted in to a family entertainment park and zoological
gardens intended for people to discover nature and familiarize
themselves with the flora and fauna of the region. The park offers
a variety of activities. It has a farm with domestic animals,
a theater, a museum, waterfalls, boating on the river etc.
Cimetiére du Pére Lachaise
Commonly called the cemetery of Father-Lachaise
this cemetery is the most prestigious and the most visited. It
is well maintained with trees, parks and flower decorations. A
million people were buried there to date and more than two million
visitors go there each year. Some of the most celebrated dead
have unremarkable tombs within expressive monuments.
