Cultural Programs in Paris

Meet Eléonore Briard, Director of Cultural Programs for AZ Paris #1.

I have two specializations : Marketing techniques as well as a Masters in German and French as a foreign language F.L.E. I organize the Extracurricular Program at the French school in Paris. I’m Parisian and my job consists in helping students from our school, who come from all over the world to :

• get acquainted with other students,
• learn about monuments and quarters such as The Invalides, The Luxembourg garden quarter or Saint-Germain-des-Près almost everyday of the week,
• take advantage of seeing a wide variety of evening entertainment such as Swan Lake or a concert given by the Orchestra National de France on an average of two times a week,
• go on an excursion outside of Paris such as the Châteaux de la Loire or Monet’s gardens in Giverny during the weekend, every two weeks.

I really enjoy it ! Being with students from over 70 different countries is really my cup of tea!

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Discover Paris

Several times a week, in the morning or the afternoon, teachers organize tours to different areas of Paris, to museums and exhibitions These tours always have a cultural purpose. Almost every night, an evening out is organized by the French school: opera, concerts, theatre, restaurant. One or two teachers host the evenings. Students can participate in on site "tastings" : for wine, chocolate, cheese...

Depending on the season, various excursions are offered around Paris : in summer, the "Fêtes de nuit" at the Château de Versailles, candlelight dinners at Vaux-le -Vicomte, picnics, Weekend excursions are organized to Brittany, Normandy, Burgundy, the castles of the Loire, the festival of lyrical art in Aix-en-Provence. Students also are asked to use their artistic talents (musical, culinary...) to organize, at school, evening activities - concerts, buffets which create a festive atmosphere.
