Perhaps
you would enjoy a trip into the jungle where you can experience
the "Amazon" that includes a river, wild animals, plus
topical plants and weather conditions, and at the sametime have
the opportunity to practice and learn Spanish. We can offer you
such an adventure. We have developed an extension program of our
language school's courses in a jungle location. While there you
have the opportunity to continue your Spanish course in the morning
and do a variety of jungle excursions during the afternoon.
Few people realize that despite
the small size of Ecuador, at 283,520 square km or about the size
of that State of Nevada or New Zealand, that it has a varied set
of geographical regions. Looking at the life zones, temperatures,
climate, and rain fall, Ecuador has been divided into three distinctive
geographical regions.
The
backbone of Ecuador is the Andean range, with Chimborazo at 6310
meters, being its highest peak. The mountains create the Andean
or the highland region of Ecuador. The Andean range runs north
and south, splitting the country between the western Pacific coastal
region or the lowlands, and the eastern side of the Andean range,
that descends into steamy rainforests or the topical region. The
topical region is part of the upper Amazonian basin and it is
here that we have located our extension courses. These three regions
is why Ecuador is is one of the most species-rich nations on the
planet. And because of the regions, Ecuador has a high biodiversity
which the government is working on conserving and maintaining.
If you are interested in having
a jungle experience and at the sametime learn Spanish, then you
need not look any further. Simply contact us and we will arrange
a one week or more "Spanish and Jungle Adventure" package
for you. You will receive the same kind of language course that
you would have normally taken in our Quito location. Only you
have the added pleasure of being located in the "jungle's
of Ecuador."
It is recommended that you read
up on the region and have taken the necessary precautions needed
to travel and stay in such regions. The site includes protected
areas (screened in areas), comfortable bedrooms, and all the comforts
of a home. The staff at Amazonas travel to the site often and
can give you all the information about the local area, tours,
animals, plants, and other points of interest to make your stay
fun and "an adventure."
