Spanish School Accommodations
The Spanish school in Tamarindo offers both an
on-site student Residence and host family options for Spanish students
while they learn Spanish in Costa Rica. .
Student Residence in Tamarindo
 The
student Residence at the Spanish school in Tamarindo, Costa Rica
is located on-site at the school. The building consists of four
2-Bedroom apartmens. Each apartment has its own fully furnished
kitchen and living area. There are individual air conditioning units
for each apartment to keep the living space and bedrooms comfortable
throughout the year. The apartments in general are basic, but cleaned
regularly to provide a nice environment for every day living.
Each room is shared by 3 students who are all enrolled
at the Costa Rica Spanish school. This is a perfect option for those
Spanish students that want an affordable independant accommodations
 while
they study in Tamarindo. The student residence is in Tamarindo so
you are a short walk to the beach and city center.
The apartments also feature modern amenities including
cable-tv, wireless internet access, and complete kitchen with microwave,
refridgerator, etc. There are patio areas on the ground floor and
the upper balcony of the residence for relaxing and taking in some
fresh air. Students often congregrate on the patio to discuss the
days classes or arrange activities for the weekend. Hammocks are
provided on the patio for afternoon naps outside.
Costa Rican Host Family- Tamarindo
 Living
with a Costa Rican host family is a great way to learn more about
the culture while also having another place where you can practice
your Spanish. The Spanish school in Tamarindo has carefully selected
a number of families to help make your stay enjoyable.
Typical families will host one to two students at a time. Each
student will receive his/her own room and will get two meals per
day (breakfast and dinner). Additionally each student will get
a key to allow them to come and go as they please. The homestays
can be considered relatively small and basic. However do not let
this deter you. Costa Ricans are well known for their hospitality!
The vast majority of our host families are located
in the towns of Santa Rose and Villa Real. These towns are approximately
3-5 miles from Tamarindo. There is regular and cheap public transportation
between these towns
and Tamarindo, so getting back and forth will not present any
difficulty. Buses run from early in the morning to early evening.
Taxis are available at virtually any hour.
All families are middle class by local standards.
The rural towns they live in are inland and the homes are quite
rustic by city standards. Host families provide clean and comfortable
homes. In a tropical setting insects are a given. Host families
try to keep the little guys out of the home but this is not always
possible at all times, especially during rainy season. This just
goes with the surroundings and the families do their best to control
the situation.
