BANKS

Banco de Costa Rica - has a branch located in Plaza Jacó.
Banco Nacional - is in the town center (open Mon -Fri. 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.).
Banco Popular - farther south, has a 24 hour ATM for Visa (open Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.-noon.)
Western Union - is toward the north end of town, oposite of La Bruja resturant.

POST & COMMUNICATIONS

International Communication Center - located at the Centro Comercial el Paso, open 7 a.m.-9 p.m., which charges $3 per minute ($2 weekends) for calls to the U.S.
Post Office - located at the Centro Commercial el Paso, though the main post office is 150 feet east of the soccer field in Garabito.

INTERNET

Internet Café - is in the center of town; it's open daily 9a.m.-7 p.m. and charges $6.50 per hour ($1 for the first five minutes).

MEDICAL

Centro Medico Bolaños - tel. 643-2323, is at the north end of town.
Centro Medico Integral - tel.643-3025, 150 feet south of Banco Nacional, is open daily 8 a.m-8 p.m.; it's above the pharmacy, tel. 643-1127.

POLICE

There's a police station on the beach, next to Hotel Balcón del Mar, and another police station, tel. 643-3011 , in Garabito. For OIJ (Costa Rica's equivalent of the FBI or CID), call tel. 643-1723.

LAUNDRY

Lavandería Puro Blanco - te643-1025, is on the main drag, toward the south end of town.
Aquamatic - is a coin-operated self-serve laundry 150 yards further south.

MISCELLANEOUS

Cabinas Clarita - at the north end of the beach, charges 75 cents for use of its beachside showers and 35 cents for its toilets.
