Spanish Class Overview

Spanish language classes are 60 minutes in length. Students may enroll for a minimum of 4 hours a day up to a maximum of 7 hours per day. Spanish students may enroll for as short as one week and up to a period of months.

Spanish language classes begin at 8.30 a.m. every weekday morning and finish at 1 p.m. There is a break from 10.30 to 11 a.m. in which you can enjoy tea, coffee or water in the school, the garden or on the terrace.

The lunch break is from 1 to 2 p.m. For those who are taking an intensive Spanish language course, classes resume at 2 p.m. and finish up at 4 p.m. The rest of the day is free.

The cultural program generally takes place in the afternoons and evenings.

Spanish Teachers

All the Spanish teachers have university degrees and many years of experience at teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Each year the teachers receive regular training to ensure that their teaching maximises student success. The Spanish teachers make use of a wide range of modern teaching strategies, supported by the use of multimedia, to put a very strong emphasis on the practical use of Spanish.

Spanish Course Philosophy

Upon arrival, students take a placement test. Recognizing that students know their particular educational needs, the school evaluates the test and assists the student in creating the most profitable customized program.

International Student Body

A particular pleasure for many of our students is the opportunity to meet others from all over the world. The Spanish language school receives many students from Europe and North America.

School Facilities

The Spansih school building is located in a charming area of Santo Domingo de Heredia. With its spacious and well lit classrooms it offers an ideal environment in which to study and learn Spanish. You can relax on our terrace or in our garden during breaks, and if you please you can even take classes outdoors.

Each course, no matter whether it is a mini group or a one-on-one lesson, is held in a separate classroom.

Email Access

Students can acess email for free at the Spanish language school. It should be noted however that Costa Rica has an abundance of cheap internet cafes, many of which are very close to the school.

Airport Transfer

Students are met at the airport by their host family or someone from the school. You will then be transported to your selected accommodation option. This transfer is included in the cost of your program.
