Host Families: AZ Arenal
All of the families are carefully
screened and are accustomed to housing foreign students. The families
are very patient and go out of their way to help the students learn
Spanish. Our families are diverse - young couples without children,
couples with children (of all age groups) and older couples with
grown children who are no longer at home. We always do our best
to accommodate students' wishes concerning homestay families. The
majority of the homestay's are within walking distance of the school.
In terms of the standard of living
of the host families, all are middle class by Costa Rican standards.
Students will find a simpler way of life than to which they are
accustomed to. However, Costa Rica is not a typical developing country
and many homes have the same consumer items which are found in North
America and Europe. All of the homes are clean and students have
a room of their own.
Staying with a local host family
is a great way to learn more about Costa Rica and is another great
place where you can practice the Spanish that you are learning in
the Spanish language school.
If you have questions or concerns
during your stay, you will be happy to know that there is an on
site home stay coordinator at the Spanish language school.
