HOST FAMILIES
We
highly recommend that students take advantage of homestays in
order to practice what they learn in class with their family at
home. It is also the best way to learn about the local culture.
For this reason, the vast majority of our students stay with one
of our excellent host families.
Accommodation includes breakfast and dinner during the week and
also lunch on the weekend. After receiving your housing form with
your application, we will fax or e-mail you the details regarding
your host family at least two weeks before you leave home. We
assign only one student per family so you will have no option
but to practice your Spanish.
HOST FAMILY PROFILE:

All families are carefully
screened and must meet the Spanish school's stringent requirement
before being accepted as a host family.

All of our host families are
middle-class and live in homes and areas that are attractive.

Many of our families have
been in our study abroad program for many years and have consistently
received excellent student evaluations.

Many are single parent families.

The ages of children in the
families range from a few years old to adults.

Some homestays are without
children.

Distances from the schools
vary from a few minutes walk to a 30 minute bus ride, due to
the size of the cities.

Students have their own rooms
and sometimes a private bathroom also.

Students are given a key to
the house and are free to come and go as they please, but need
to respect the routine of the family they are staying with.
We have many different types of host families and we try to select
the best match for you.
HOTELS
and APARTMENTS
There
are numerous hotels available within a short distance of the Spanish
language school in Santiago. Hotels range greatly in price and
if you would like to stay at a hotel we can select one and reserve
a room for you based upon the price range you give us.
Apart hotels are very popular
and there are several not far from the Spanish school. They normally
include a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen facilities
and are comparably priced to a regular hotel.
